Benefits of Developing a Happiness Attitude
Our Thought for this week is:
The Thought Exposed
Happiness is defined as a state of well-being characterized by emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. Let's break down this definition to get a clearer picture of exactly what happiness is. First, take note that happiness is defined by your emotions. Let that thought soak in for a minute. Now read it again: Happiness is defined by your emotions. That means you can choose to be happy, or not. Happiness is clearly and solely dependent upon your attitude and thoughts.
In order words, your attitude defines your happiness or unhappiness. This is why the secret of happiness doesn't lie in having all the things you think you need. Many people say that if they just had a couple more thousand pounds, or a bigger house, or a better job, then their life would be better and they would be happier.
The truth is, no matter how much physical possessions you own, those things can never define your happiness. You must reach deep within yourself and become content with your life as it is. That is when you will learn the true secret of happiness.
Therefore, when it comes to feeling happy and content, your attitude plays an important role. A negative attitude keeps you focused on the negative side of your situation. This will make you spend more time thinking about what you don’t have, the opportunities you missed out on, the terrible things that have happened to you in the past, and the awful things that might happen to you in the future.
But, at the opposite end of the spectrum is the “Happiness Attitude”. Friends, this is slightly different from a mere positive attitude! However, a positive attitude is certainly a good place to start because it helps you to feel better and think more positively, but the Happiness Attitude also includes a concrete decision to live your life from a focus of happiness and joy, which can elevate your attitude to a whole new level!
Therefore, if you are ready to adopt a genuine Happiness Attitude in your own life, I will be showing you six benefits of developing a happiness attitude at all time in your life.
1. Builds Confidence
One sure factor that contributes to negative attitude is feeling unsure of yourself or your capabilities. Yes! Lack of self-confidence is the direct opposite of the Happiness Attitude. However, a happiness attitude enables you in building your confidence and affirming your capabilities to do anything you desire. And this will also enable you to feel strong, powerful and more in control of your overall happiness. This is the why it is expedient that you develop a happiness attitude, which can enhance your performance in life.
2. Enhances Trust
A Happiness Attitude also means trusting yourself to make the right decisions that will create greater happiness and fulfilment in your life. These decisions may not always be easy, but by choosing to believe in yourself and trust your inner vision, you play an active part in creating the life circumstances that will make you happiest. Friends, when you develop a happiness attitude, you will always trust yourself and your decisions. This is another sure way of attaining a peak performance in your life.
3. Creates Appreciation
The Happiness Attitude requires an ongoing commitment to always appreciate and show gratitude in every moment. This is one component of developing a happiness attitude. Friends! Not only should you appreciate the bigger stuff like your family, home, job, friends, and health, but a happiness attitude will also enable you to appreciate the smaller blessings like getting a good deal on a new pair of shoes, receiving a compliment, or even catching a glimpse of a beautiful bird outside your window. This is all what a happiness attitude can do for you. And you know that once you are happy, your performance quotient is at its best.
4. Leads to Optimism
Optimism is a huge component of a Happiness Attitude because it requires a conscious decision to expect the best, no matter what! Rather than obsessing and worrying about the negatives, you’ll commit to giving most of your attention to the great things coming your way. And expectation of the best is the mother of manifestation.
5. Enables Flexibility
Do you want to overcome stagnation in your life? Then you got to be flexible, for a rigid mind-set often fosters stagnation and negativity, which detracts you from your happiness. How then can you be flexible? A Happiness Attitude encourages greater flexibility and resourcefulness, which aids you in overcoming obstacles and facing any challenges before you. Therefore, flexibility is a huge component of a happiness attitude. May I let you know also, when you are too rigid; life becomes difficult once, but developing a happiness attitude will enable you to be flexible towards life, which in turn will simplify life for you.
