7 Wrong Notions For Creating Wealth
Achievers Quote for the week:
Achievers Strategies Exposed
It is very unfortunate today that many are living in abject poverty because of their wrong conceptions about creating wealth. I call them wrong notions; if you like, myths for creating wealth. Even if you don’t know any of such wrong notions, you might have probably read or heard about various myths surrounding wealth creation and even wealthy people. Of course, all of these myths hinder your quest for financial independence. By the help of God I have been able to identify the most common and destructive of these wrong notions. This is what we shall be discussing in this nugget. If you will just open up your heart, you will discover why you have been unable to create your personal wealth, because somehow, you have believed and adhered to these wrong notions and myths
1: How much you earn is a function of how hard you work
How much you earn is not a function of how hard you work. How did I know? If you ever witnessed your parents coming home tired from a long day’s work during your youth, you will probably agree with me that money was not and is not a commensurate reward for all that effort. They worked so hard; yet, had little to show for it. Therefore, if how much you earn depends on how hard you work, the blue-collar workers like the builders, who have been working hard for years, would have been the wealthiest people on planet earth. Friend! You will agree with me that this is not the case, because these blue-collar workers form the vast majority of the middle-class, which constitute most of the workforce we have in our society. On the other hand, if how much you earn depends on how hard you work, it means that people “just” work for the money. And those who work “just” for the money often accumulate debts in attempts to comfort themselves and get all the valuable things they lack, since they are working hard. As such, from all indications, what you earn is not a function of how hard you work. So, do not use this wrong notion as an excuse for not creating wealth for yourself.
2: You need to be in the right line of business to create wealth
I like to say that in any business there are winners and losers. Yes! Winners abound and losers abound in the same business, even in businesses that many consider distasteful like sweeping the streets, working in a factory, collecting the trash, and even selling newspapers, etc. There are many who are millionaires today simply by doing these “impossible” work. On the other hand, there are just as many “losers” as well as winners in businesses like stockbrokerage, sale of real estate etc. Therefore, it is a wrong notion to believe that you need to be in the right line of business to create wealth. Friends! Do you think so? If you do, it means that all the people who are involved in the same business (like stockbrokerage) are millionaires. Of course, this isn’t true.
3: You need the right education to create wealth
Friends, being formally uneducated does not equate to poor performance on the job or the inability to form a strong vision to carry a person to success. However, I have come to discover that most uneducated can easily be experts without having a formal education. Therefore, the most educated people are not really the wealthiest? I will give you an instance. Considering university professors, if you really need the right education to create wealth, then the professors should be the wealthiest people on earth. But this is not the case; if you ever get the opportunity, ask them about their salaries, you would be amazed of what you will hear. Yes! The truth about creating wealth is vastly different from this notion. Therefore, the wealthiest people are those who can convert their knowledge (not necessarily their formal education) into money, in the best possible way. Yes! They can be highly educated people (like scientists, doctors, professor, inventors etc.) or almost ignorant like the uneducated people per se. May I say therefore, being in the right education is not necessarily what you need to create your wealth.
4: It used to be easier to create wealth
Oh many refer to the “good old times” and they see it as the excuse for their inability to create wealth. They would say, “It used to be easier to create wealth”. Friends! Talking about the “good old times” only offers comfort and a convenient excuse. If you look around, you’ll see there are people who behaved the same way in the “good old times” as they do now, yet their success has been recent. I tell you something; statistics even shows an increase in the number of millionaires in the world every year, particularly in recent times. What do you expect? With the rapid technological advancement and progress, come new ideas, desires and needs. Hence, there are more business opportunities appearing daily to serve them than in the so called “good old times”. Therefore, stop seeing this as an excuse, and take advantage of the many opportunities around now.
5: I’m too old or young to create wealth
This is another wrong assumption about creating wealth. Many people either see themselves as too old or too young to create wealth. Oh! If you conduct a research on the life stories of some of the most successful people, you will see that this is not true at all. Some became wealthy in their old age. For instance, the owner of the popular McDonald’s Restaurant, Ray Kroc, was more than fifty years old when he bought and made the first McDonald’s. While on the other hand, other successful people found their fortune early in their lives - at an age others call “too young” to create wealth.
6: You have to spend money to make money in order to create wealth.
You know, it is very common to hear people say, “I don’t have enough money to start; after all, you have to spend money to make money” Like the other myths, it is absolutely obvious that this one is not true either. Many have made their fortunes starting from scratch, like living in an apartment or working out of their garage and yet they developed business empires that are worth billions of dollars today. For instance, Dani Johnson, the author of Spirit Driven Success made her first million from living and working from her Car, because she started with $2.03 to her name. In fact, everything she owned was packed into her car, lived at public beaches, slept in her car, and showered in public facilities. Therefore, without doubt, you will agree with me that the other elements of success are far more important than having seed money to start a business. Yes, I know for sure that money often helps and it certainly does not hurt to start with some money. But, like everything else discussed in this nugget, money probably helps, but it is not always necessary in order to create wealth.
7: I need to begin when I know everything
Success and obtaining wealth is a dynamic process. It can never be static. This is to say that even if you could come out of the gate knowing everything that is there to know about creating wealth, some of those strategies/elements will change immediately and many others will change rapidly. Hence, the more you learn, the more you see what you still need to learn. May I honestly ask you this question: Do you believe that you will know everything necessary to create wealth someday? Friends, do not deceive yourself, you will never know enough to be really prepared in order for you to create wealth. Therefore, you got to decide now to undermine what you know to create wealth. Yes! If you do not decide now, nothing will happen. Life is dynamic - you live and learn.
Every one of us is born to be a winner, yet very few of us know how to take advantage of and cultivate the possibilities hidden inside our minds! Friends! Without mincing words, you have what it takes to become a millionaire! But the problem is how to harness this hidden potential in you. There is no one that can ever grant you greater potential than the one your heart already holds. No matter what I say now, I just cannot grant you greater potential. Your potential cannot be greater than the one your heart already holds. Therefore, you got to see yourself as a millionaire. Yes! All you need only is to discover the contents of your heart, so as to find the one true path to your success in life. Hence, the greatest decisions must always come from the inside, because you are born with the seeds that will lead you to your success and create wealth. As you take this decision, you will definitely discover a new, deep well of fortune that can make you a millionaire and that is yourself!
Achievers Principles:
The most educated people are not really the wealthiest
Being in the right education is not necessarily what you need to create your wealth
There is no one that can ever grant you greater potential than the one your heart already holds.
You are born with the seeds that will lead you to your success and create wealth.
