The Thought Exposed

The winner in a race is only determined at the end. If you don’t run, you can’t get a prize. Purpose is not the end in itself. It’s only a means to an end. Knowing where you are going is the first step; the actual pursuit is what makes it a reality. It is not enough to have a goal set. Goal setting is daydreaming when it lacks pursuit. Purpose is of no value without pursuit.

God speaking in Habakkuk chapter 2 verses 2 said:

And the Lord answered me, and said, write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

The colour of every purpose is determined by the tenacity of the pursuit involved. “… Let him run …”. Only runners obtain the prize. Many think that believing is a substitute for running. I have heard some people said, “I am believing God” and yet they are not running. God has told them what to do in order to obtain. They won’t do it, but rather claiming to believe Him. God won’t run with the vision for you. You are the one to run with the vision or if you like purpose. Friends! You don’t watch destiny; you work it out. Even if there is one thousand and one prophecy upon your head, that you are going to be great, until you pursue that prophecy; you will never see it come into fulfilment.

“Champions do not become champions in the ring. They are merely recognized in the ring. Their becoming happens in their daily routine.”

There are many champions who are not recognized, because they are non-runners. There are many great discoverers who are non-achievers, because they are non-runners. That discovery might be genuine, but your pursuit must be strong if it will ever become a reality. Friends! May I let you know that, your future is hidden in your daily routine - your pursuit - what you do daily.

Martin Luther King is quoted as saying:

“If you cannot fly, run. If you cannot run, walk; if you cannot walk, then crawl. By all means keep moving.”

Please, don’t sit down like statue and yet expect to be crowned king. Keep moving! Pursue only those dreams and goals that truly excite you. Pursue the career God equipped you for. Hear this! You’ll never have significant success with anything until it becomes an obsession with you. And the only proof of your obsession is pursuit and not staying idle!

Many people don’t believe in their purpose. This is why they lack the energy for pursuit. If you believe in your purpose, you will give it all that it takes to see it actualised. God respects men who believe in their dreams enough to labour over them. Every outstanding runner is always passionately consumed by his goal. Everything is towards his set goal. He is simply goal-driven and motivated.

One of the world’s greatest scientists who was so addicted to his research work is Isaac Newton. A story is told of him how his wife set his food on the dining table one day, but the man was so engrossed in his laboratory that he didn’t go out to eat. His wife later had to clear the table. When he finally remembered and went out to eat; he didn’t meet any food on the table. All he said was, “oh! I forgot I have eaten already”. So he went back to his laboratory. The man was so deep in his pursuit that he sometimes forgot to eat. Friends! That was a man of pursuit. No wonder, Isaac Newton is such a name in the world of science today.

Beloved, remember nothing works except you work! You can’t get the prize, if you don’t run. So run that you may obtain.

Know ye not that they, which run in a race, run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run that ye may obtain. - I Corinthians 9:24
