                                                         AN INSTRUMENT FOR SERVICE

The Thought Exposed

God will not give you money that will not serve His creation. It is an instrument for service. Money is a reward for service. Hear what God said to Abraham in Genesis chapter 12 verses 2:

“… I will bless you and thou shall become a blessing…”

The reason for the blessing is that you should be a blessing. The money you don’t spend to serve mankind will enslave you. It will definitely imprison you. Joseph said: “I know God sent me here to preserve lives”. This is a life that understands the reason for the money. Simply look at where God took him to - He was a prime minister in a foreign country. My God! What an outstanding favour.

Money is not a factor for success. It is service and contribution input that determines how successful you are. If the teachers who taught us were all in business, how would we have been out of school? They were instruments in the hand of God to raise another generation. Yes! I don’t know how much those great inventors earned in their time, maybe peanuts, but look at the benefits they are offering generations after them. Beloved, as far as I am concerned, this is what success is. May you pattern your life after these great men!

Friends! If you are a teacher, teach so much that the people you teach will catch their destiny through your service. And their destiny will relocate you to where you are. Someone you helped today; tomorrow might be a source of help to you. Therefore, do not withhold your hand of service to humanity. No matter what you are doing as a career, wake up in the morning to your work place, and say; “I am going there to make a contribution today”. Please, do not just go there to occupy a space. That way, you will go places. Yes! That way, your wealth will come via contribution. I mean meaningful service and contribution

“The level to which you are a blessing is the level to which you are entitled to His blessings”.

David was perhaps the wealthiest man in his time, but there is no psalm on money. Why? He understood the essence of money and wealth. What David single handily gave to the building of the temple; no single rich man in his nation could match him. Even in our nation, no single rich man can still match him till date. He said:

… I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, and because of my devotion to the house of my God I give it to the house of my God: three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver… - I Chronicles 29: 2 - 5”

Friends! The margin of my Bible estimated what David gave in our current currency value as 576 million dollars. Oh! What a contribution! No wonder, he was entitled to God’s blessings. Go for service; contribute to the betterment of mankind and your income will show it later. It is coming in different forms, money inclusive. However, if you pretend to be working, the payday will betray you. And may I also inform you:

“If you are very conscious about gathering money, God is very conscious about blessing you.”

No matter the immediate benefit, do not toy with your destiny. That is all you have got. Remember what the scriptures said about David:

For David after he had served his generation, fell asleep and was laid with his father…. - Acts 13:36.

The emphasis is on service. So, the best time to die is after you must have served your generation. And money is an instrument for the service. No matter what you have, it is given for service. God is on your side!
