WINNING GOD’S LOVE

Our Thought for this week is:

The Thought Exposed

It is not that God loves some Christian more than others. It is simply that some have placed themselves where they naturally compel God’s love. Once you successfully position yourself in the place of obedience - whatever He says, you do, you naturally win His love. And when you win the love of God, you enter into a place in God where all other things are added to you without you asking for them.

To affirm this, consider the case of our father Abraham. When God told him to leave his native land and move to a place He would show him in Genesis chapter 12 verse 1

“Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you.”

Do you know what? As a result of Abraham’s obedience, God became committed to him and Abraham automatically won the love of God. Hear what the Bible said of Abraham

“So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him… And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. Genesis 12:4”

Do you know what it means for a man of seventy-five years of age to leave his family, his own land and depart to an unknown destination? Oh my God! This is absolute obedience. The Bible says that God only told him to depart to a land that He would show him. So, Abraham will just wake up one day and say to his wife, “prepare let us go” and his wife will ask him, “where” and he will reply, “only God knows”. In fact, they will think he is going mad. No wonder God said to him in verses 2 and 3 of Genesis chapter 12,

“I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Friends! That was how Abraham secured God’s love. Everything that concerned Abraham moved God to action. This was why Abraham never needed to pray to God about some issues in his life. Here is what I meant. The Bible said that when Abimelech took his wife Sarah, God plagued him and his household. Abraham never prayed about it. Why? His obedience was speaking for him. Hear me! Despite that Abimelech was ignorant of the fact that Sarah was Abraham’s wife, God still said, “indeed you are a dead man…”

God was in love with Abraham because of his total obedience to Him. Little wonder Abraham was very rich.

“Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold. Genesis 13:2”

Have you ever seen anywhere in the bible where Abraham was shouting in prayers: “Oh God make me rich”. No! He became that wealthy through obedience. It is a realm where you secure God’s love. And the love of God is enough to make a super success of any dummy.
