ABOVE ALL THAT WE ASK OR THINK (Part 1)
Our Thought for this week is:
The Thought Exposed
You can actually draw anything with your thoughts and imagination, just as you would draw anything with your words through the act of prayers. How? God responds to our thoughts in the same way He responds to our words in prayers. Yes! How did I know! Take a look at Ephesians chapter 3 verse 20:
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”
It therefore indicates from the above scriptures, that thinking is another way of praying or making our requests known to God. But the difference here is that, it is praying without utterance. Many have received their answers through this avenue. I give you an instance,
“And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment.
For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well” - Matthew 9:20-21”
Oh! This woman with the issue of blood only said in her heart, “If I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” What happened? Jesus responded to her imagination. She did not say a word of prayer. She only used her imagination! And of course, virtue flew out of Jesus and she was automatically made well. Friends! You can now understand better what I am talking about. It was just positive imagination within her heart; and she drew virtue without utterance. It is a realm! And in this realm you can compel things to happen for you on their own accord by employing the power of positive imagination.
However, that was not the very first time Jesus responded to people’s imagination. Just before that encounter in verse 3 of the same gospel according to Matthew, the Bible says:
“And at once some of the scribes said within themselves, “this man blasphemes!”
But Jesus knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts?
Friends! It was their thoughts that Jesus responded to and not their words; because the Bible recorded that they said within themselves. This means that your thoughts as well as your words weigh the same in the sight of God. This is how powerful your imagination really is. So, be careful with what you think, because God will do whatever you think.
Oh! It is very unfortunate that many do not realize this. This is the reason many people do not see results, despite their countless prayers. They have a negative imagination and thoughts different from their prayer request. Yes! You cannot carry a negative imagination and be effective in prayer. Therefore, when your imagination is negative, your prayer and supplication equally get frustrated. Why? As you persist in prayers, nothing goes through for you because of your negative thoughts and imagination. May God help you!
We have seen the power of our imagination; how God responds even to our thoughts. This suggests to you that there is need for you to work on your imagination. How do I work on my imagination? If you like, how do I put a bridle on my mind, so it does not lead me to destruction? This is exactly what we shall be treating in our next week’s nugget. So, do not miss it.
