THE KEY TO SUCCESS
Our Thought for this week is:
The Thought Exposed
Nothing distinguishes as purpose! You belong somewhere. Locate it! The key to success is discovering God’s purpose for your life. It is the quickest medium in breaking every form of limitations in your life. This is because; God will only be committed to His purpose for your life and not your plans. Therefore, you got to discover your assignment in life. Why are you here? There are three major ways of discovering your purpose on earth.
Gifts/Talents
“Your strongest desires, talents and opportunities reveal God’s calling and dream for your life.”
The first step towards experiencing a colourful destiny and breaking limitations is locating the gift of God in your life. There is no ungifted creature in God’s creation. When God created you, He gave you certain gifts and talents to accomplish something He wanted you to do. These gifts are what the scientists describe as potentials. Considering Matthew chapter 25 verse 15
And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to every man according to his several abilities and straightway took his journey.
From the above scriptural verse, everyone has a gift. God gave gifts to everyone according to their several abilities. Now! What are gifts? Gifts are certain natural instruments that enhance profiting - the things that naturally flow out of you without pressure and stress. Whatever creates joy and energy within you is probably an indication of what God wants you to pursue.
Friends! Start by evaluating your special gifts and abilities. Find something that consumes you - something that is worthy of building your entire life around. Whatever brings you the most fulfilment is an important key to your life. Therefore, my beloved, look inward to discover the treasures He has put in you. These treasures have the ability to build your dreamland.
A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men. - Proverbs 18:16
Your gift is a pointer to your purpose in life. Discover what motivates and excites you. Remember, what you love is a clue to your calling and talent.
Callings
For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance - Romans 11: 29
And he gave some apostle; and some prophets; and some evangelist; and some pastors and teachers. - Ephesians 4:11
When you look inward to discover the treasures He has put in you and nothing seems to be forthcoming, then you look up to Him. God is the one who calls and also the one who gives gifts to people. Whereas everyone is gifted, some others are called into certain assignments. You have the gift and then the calling. The two weigh the same; they are equal in value and both come from the Lord. Even when He calls, He releases gifts to match the calling.
Whether it is a call to ministry or a gift inside you, they are all the same. They are put there by the same source - God. When God says, “my son, come”, that is a calling. But whether you are called for one thing or the other, you are created for something. And may I let you know that God is only committed to His purpose and not your plans.
Choices
There are some who may not be able to point to any outstanding gift in their lives. God left you with a choice to make. God respects your choice. Hence He said:
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life that both thou and thy seed may live. - Deuteronomy 30:19
In the light of the above scripture, your choice should be life. You can still be established in a purposeful, fulfilling life based on your choice. The power of this choice in locating God’s purpose for your life covers areas like business, professional practices, academics, but your choice must not be contrary to His covenant provisions for you. Once it is not, you are sure to have God’s backing.
However, the power of your choice in locating God’s purpose for your life does not cover ministry. This is given strictly by divine callings. Please, do not choose to enter into ministry because you will not have God’s backing. And besides that, you are bound to a life of struggles and frustrations.
Thought lessons:
God will only be committed to His purpose for your life and not your plans.
Whatever creates joy and energy within you is probably an indication of what God wants you to pursue.
Your gift is a pointer to your purpose in life.
When He calls, He releases gifts to match the calling.
