WHY YOU WERE CREATED (Part 2)
Our Thought for this week is:
The Thought Exposed
The first chapter of Genesis exposes God’s intention for creating you.
“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping things that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” - Genesis 1:26 - 28.
We did established last week in the light of the above scriptures; that there are three reasons God made man. I mean three reasons God gave you life. These three basic reasons are:
1.To have dominion
2.To be fruitful and multiply
3.To fill the earth and subdue it
These reasons are virtually the purpose given to man by God. You are not here by accident. Your birth is on purpose. And not until you discover this, can you become a super success in life. Last week nugget exposed the first reason God created man. But this week, we shall be discussing the second reason God created man. Stay tight.
TO BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY
Another reason you were created is for you to be fruitful and to multiply.
“…And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; - Genesis 1:28
To be fruitful is to be profitable. God created you to bear abundant, life-giving fruit. You are here to be profitable to the entire earth. This is one purpose for your existence. Jesus speaking said,
“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit…” - John 15:8
Jesus also confirmed from this scripture that God created us to bear fruit. This is to show you how important it is for you to be fruitful. Let’s take this scenario; if you have a tree in your garden, let’s say it is an orange tree, and after many years, it never produces any single oranges. I am quite sure you will not be happy. At some time, you are going to get tired of the orange tree taking up spaces in your garden without bearing any fruit for you all year long. Certainly, you will cut down the tree.
Friends, God’s intention for creating every tree is to bear fruit. This is why He created every tree with a seed inside of it. There is the potential of fruitfulness in every tree. Therefore, a tree does not have to struggle to bear fruit. Once it is attached to its source, it fruitfulness is sure. Yes! I know someone will say that it also needs the right environment and conditions for germinations. But may I let you know, without a tree being attached to its source, it cannot actually maximize the right environment and conditions of germination. See it this way, if you place a tree on a concrete floor, it will never germinate even if you give it all the necessary conditions of growth it needs.
The same is true of us. No matter where we go or what we do, apart from God; we will be like the orange tree without fruit. By implication, you need to stay attached to your source, which is God for you to be fruitful in life. Yes! Your fruitfulness is related to the food you feed yourself with. I am not talking about your natural food here; I am talking about your connection with the Word of God, which is God Himself.
Dr Myles Munroe said,
“A productive person is simply somebody who will respond to the demand.”
In other words, God places a demand on you to bear fruit. You only place a demand on something when you know it has the ability to respond. Likewise, God places a demand on you because you got all it takes to bear fruit. May I say therefore, your ability to fulfil God’s demand is connected to your relationship with Him because the fruitfulness and productivity He desires from you is the manifestation of your in-built potential.
I like to end this nugget by saying; every tree that does not bear fruit will be cut off. Just like you would do with your orange tree. The same is true of God. God has a way of moving unproductive people to the side and raising up productive people. So, be wise and may you not be moved aside. See you next week as we discuss the third reason you were created.
