Our Thought for this week is:

The Thought Exposed

Most great men in life all had little, small and uncelebrated beginnings! Shakespeare was the son of a rail-splitter! Christopher Columbus was the son of thread weaver! Oliver Cromwell was the son of a local brewer! Daniel Defoe was the son of a butcher! Chief M.K.O. Abiola's parents were so poor that he could not afford to drink a tin of milk for twenty years! Napoleon Bonaparte the great French Army General stood 42 in his class at the Military Academy! But did you ever hear of the other 41? Chief Gani Fawehinmi made a 3rd class in law at a London University because he had to wash plates to pay his school fees! He returned to Nigeria with only a pair of trousers and a tie, but today, his success in law, is unparalleled! Was Jesus not born in a manger? He was not born in a five star hospital. Henry Ward Beecher as a boy was a poor writer, a miserable speller, but he rose to become a man “mighty with the pen”. The list goes on and on, but what I came screaming to your inner man today is: it is not where you start that matters! It is where you finish!

QUIT NOT: ELMO MCCRINGLE… WHO WAS THAT?

“Once you quit, you are dumped into the dustbin of history, never to be recycled.”

A teenager had decided to quit high school saying he was fed up with it all, due to his poor circumstances. His father was trying to convince him to keep up his education! “Son”, he said, “You just can't quit. All the people who are remembered in history didn't quit; Thomas Edison, he didn't quit. Nelson Mandela, he didn't quit. M.K.O. Abiola, he didn't quit! Douglas Macarthur, he didn't quit; Elmo McCringle…” “Who was that?” the son quickly interrupted him! “Who is Elmo McCringle?” The concerned father replied soberly: “You don't remember him? He was a quitter” Oh what a lesson! Truly, the world would only remember those who refused to quit. Therefore why will you give up? No matter the giants you encounter in your life, career, business, academics, refuse to allow depression or worry to be a hindrance.

“Don't allow you colour, country, economy, family background or even educational background to be a barrier”.

May be your present circumstances and conditions are really militating against your becoming the world’s greatest, I know it is that bad! Is it your family background, your colour, or even your educational background? Hear me! You are not the first on that list! There were many - very many before you! I’m saying the list is endless.

Friends! Do you know that many people today especially the students, think that the problem is their colour? Hence, they are doing everything possible to relocate to the white man's country - USA, Europe, etc thinking that everything is cheap and easy there. But they lie.

Wherever you are and whatever you
are going through while reading this nugget, always believe that God your creator has great deposits of talents and treasures in you. Whether you are a black, white or blonde, you are a first class citizen. Don't allow your colour, country, economy, family background or even educational background to be a barrier!

Failure or depression is no respecter of race, colour or sex! I have seen blacks and white fail! There are millionaires in Africa that have never travelled outside Africa! There are poor people in Africa, America, Asia, Russia, etc! So, determine to succeed even if you are currently in a pit.

Thought lessons:

To be alone does not necessarily mean that you are lonely.

Develop the habit of staying alone at times.

Your creativity is at its best when you are alone.

Don't always be in the company of friends.

Thank you for taking out time to read through this week’s Esteem Thoughts. Your life is just about to begin. So see you next week. God bless you and keep you safe.
